What
are the Jaycees?
The Jaycees are a social and community service club. We have
many opportunities to relax and have fun together, while also organizing
numerous events each year in the Tri-Cities area. Through
our activities we impact tens of thousands of people.
Who
is a Jaycee?
You!
Our membership is composed of people from all sorts of personal
and professional backgrounds. Currently, our membership is
equally split between the number of men and women with an average
age of 28.
What
can the Jaycees do for me?
That depends on you! Through our activities and the people
you meet, the Jaycees offer the opportunity to do great things that
impact the community, make new friends, network with business, government
and civic leaders, develop interpersonal skills, etc. Like
anything, we all join for our own reasons and get out of it what
we put into it.
How
do I become a member?
Membership
is open to anyone who is 21 to 40 years-old. Visit the "membership"
section to find out more.
What
is the Jaycee organization?
The Grand Haven Area Jaycees are members of the Michigan Jaycees
and the United States Jaycees. There are hundreds of chapters across
the country and many more outside the United States via Junior Chamber
International.. Beyond the great things you can do locally, there
are many opportunities to become involved at a state, national and
world-wide level, making new friends and enjoying new experiences
along the way.
The Jaycee Creed:
We Believe...
That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;
That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;
That government should be of laws rather than of men;
That earth's great treasure lies in human personality;
And that service to humanity is the best work of life!
